NASCAR Hall of Fame Complex
Engaged in two distinct roles within this expansive project in uptown Charlotte, Tobin Starr + Partners began work on the NASCAR Hall of Fame Complex when the project was awarded to the City of Charlotte in 2005. TS+P served as full-time, onsite representative of the Hall of Fame primary architect, Pei Cobb Freed & Partners. Additionally, the firm served as architect of record for the 50,000 square foot Hall of Fame exhibit. The NASCAR Hall of Fame, which opened in 2010, is owned by the City of Charlotte and operated by the Charlotte Regional Visitors Authority.
The Complex includes a 130,000sqft state-of-the-art Hall of Fame, entertainment attraction and museum. It also encompasses a 102,000sqft expansion to the Convention Center, including a new 44,000sqft ballroom. Furthermore, the NASCAR Plaza Office Tower is a 390,000sqft, 19-story Class A office building developed by Lauth Properties and NASCAR. Finally, the complex contains a parking garage for more than 1,000 vehicles.
